Volume 3 Issue 4

There will be no meetings for November, December,

or January.  The next general meeting will be in February.  The next newsletter will inform you of the date.

NOVEMBER14–Annual Thanksgiving Dinner at Stouts.  Dinner at 6:00 P.M.  Everyone’s welcome to come anytime after 3:00 P.M. to see Ted’s new shop. Ted and Carol will provide the meat, drinks, and  table service.   Bring a dish to pass.   Instead of a 50/50 drawing, there will be a “merchandise drawing”.  If you’d like to get in on the drawing, just bring a shop or kitchen item to donate to the table.  The tickets will sell 6 for $5.00.  At the time of the drawing, whoever has the number drawn will get to choose from the table of items.  This goes on until the table is empty.  Nearly everyone gets something from the drawing and the club gets the bonus of all the money.   Sounds like don’t forget to bring something!!!

DECEMBER 4–Christmas Party at Bodines.  Dinner at 6:00 P.M.  Bring your trains and come anytime after 2:00 P.M.  There will be G-gauge, 0 or 027- gauge, and S-gauge.  Bring a dish to pass....the drinks and table service will be provided.  MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW.....THERE WILL NOT BE ANOTHER NOTICE BEFORE THE PARTY.

THIS IS THE PERFECT TIME TO FORGET HOW OLD YOU ARE AND BECOME THE LITTLE BOY  (OR GIRL)  WHO LOVES TO PLAY WITH THEIR TRAINS!!!!   There will be a T-V and VCR, so bring some tapes to watch  (have any of the shows, fun day, etc.?).  Also bring some pictures......Carol Stout has volunteered to put together some photo albums for the club to keep at the club house.  This will be a permanent record for all of us to enjoy of our shows and activities.   So join us  for some early HOLIDAY CHEER!!

At the October meeting Dick Fontaine gave a program of the Wabash and Erie Canal.  It was very informative and very interesting.  There is so much history in our area .  So, thank’s Dick for  sharing some of your knowledge with us.  At the February meeting  we hope to have Don and Ray Evans give a program on the local railroads that ran in the area.   We’ll be looking forward to their presentation!

Art Petty, who just recently returned from a Las Vegas vacation, (lucky him!)  will have some 2005 tractor calendars for sale.  For each calendar sold, part of the money will go to the club.  This should be a good fund raiser.  He will have more details at Stout’s party.

Bill Reese is organizing a trip for club members and friends to Canal Park in Delphi Indiana.    On Sunday, Dec.12th from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. the museum will have all their buildings open and decorated for Christmas.  The craft and gift shops  will also be open.   Guided tours will be available or you can tour the grounds at your leisure.  If possible, we will try to charter a bus.

A directors meeting will be January 17, 2005 at 6:30 P.M. at the clubhouse.  Bring a snack and try to attend.  If any member has any questions or suggestions please contact a director so it can be discussed.  All ideas are welcomed.

Morris Publishing has supplied us with blank recipe cards.  I’ve enclosed five blank sheets with this newsletter and an envelope with my return address.  Please try and get some of your favorites back to me.  The recipes are coming to me very s-l-o-w-l-e-y.  Remember, our first cookbook was a good source of income for the club.  Let’s make this one just as good!  I have a lot more blank sheets and can get more, so don’t stop at just five.  Let me know if you need more.  SEND THEM TO ME!!              Thanks, Anne

Roy Bryant and Pam Evans where at Fun Day.  Roy’s arm was doing better and Pam looked great.

Ted Stout’s feeling better, although he was told he needed less stress in his life.  So, Ted has passed the newsletter to the Bodine’s.  Thanks Ted, we have some “big shoes” to fill!!  He has done a tremendous job in the past....hope we can do as good.  Joe  (I’ve never been late in my life: everyone’s been early) Fry has been real good since his trip to Mayo.  Although Joan reported he fell from his grain truck during harvest.  It wasn’t anything to do with his past troubles.  She said he’s really improving.  Good to hear!  Don Crowder, we were told, was planning a trip to Hawaii.  Don and Camilla have two sons currently living there with their families.  They were anxious to visit with their grandchildren and all of Camilla’s relation who are still there.

Let us know if there are any other members who are “under the weather” so we can get a GET WELL wish to them.  If we’ve missed anyone, we apologize.
