INDIANA POEM:
It’s winter in Indiana and the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour at twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Indiana when the snow’s up to your butt
You take a breath of winter and your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful so I guess I’ll hang around
I could never leave Indiana ‘cause I’m frozen to the ground!

MEETING:
The above poem was so cute I couldn’t resist including it in this newsletter even though the spring flowers are “poking through the ground”. Hopefully we’ll have some nice weather from now on! The next meeting of the Illiana Antique Power Assoc. will be April 21, 2008 at the club house. Dinner will begin at 6:30 P.M. so bring a dish to pass......our dinners seem to get better and better! Attend the meeting and see our new cabinets installed through-out the club house. They look fabulous! SEE YOU THERE!
WORK DAYS:
Several members attended the April 3rd work day and got a good start on “Kathy’s Kitchen”. Kathy Olin served dinner to the hard workers with Joan Fry supplying a yummy desert. The next work day is scheduled for April 10th. It’s exciting to have a permanent building for the ladies to show off their old fashion house-keeping talents. More exciting news is that the blacksmiths will also have a new permanent building started soon and ready for this year’s show!
RAFFLE TICKETS:
Doris Manlief has the raffle tickets available. Members need to start selling tickets; first, to cover our costs and second, to raise money for the show’s expenses. Our raffle items are: a 110V Miller welder, or $500.00 - cash or a F20 Peddle tractor. So, get some tickets and sell, sell, sell! Donated items for the raffle are always welcome!
CAMPING REMINDER:
Call John Carrell at 765-793-3282 if you want a camping space during the show. Camping fee is $25.00.
WELCOME NEW CLUB MEMBERS: STAN & WANDA CAMPBELL
SYMPATHY AND GET WELL:
Club member Zainard Layman passed away in March....he will be sadly missed. Get well wishes to Ken Evans. Kenny Short has had one knee operation and is scheduled for the second one in May. Our thoughts and prayers to all and their families.
ROCKY FORGE BLACKSMITH NEWS:
The Rocky Forge Blacksmith’s next meeting is scheduled for April 12, 2008. We will have an up-date on their meeting in next month’s newsletter.
